🚀 Getting Started

How does a wire-free robot mower work?

Navimow uses RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) GPS technology combined with a local GNSS antenna to achieve centimetre-level positioning accuracy. Unlike traditional robot mowers that need a buried boundary wire, you simply map your lawn boundaries using the Navimow app, and the mower navigates using satellite positioning and visual recognition.

How long does installation take?

Most installations can be completed in under an hour. You'll need to install the charging station and GNSS antenna, then use the app to walk the boundary of your lawn. The mower learns your lawn layout and is ready to mow. No digging, no wires, no waiting for grass to regrow over buried cables.

Do I need any technical knowledge to set it up?

No technical expertise is required. The Navimow app guides you through each step with clear instructions and helpful videos. If you can use a smartphone, you can set up a Navimow. The app is available for both iOS and Android devices.

Where should I install the charging station and antenna?

Choose a flat area on the edge of your lawn with good GPS signal (away from overhanging trees or buildings). The antenna needs a clear view of the sky for optimal satellite reception. The charging station should be on level ground with access to a power outlet. The app provides guidance on ideal placement.

🌿 Lawn & Garden Compatibility

What size lawn can Navimow handle?

The Navimow i-Series models cover different lawn sizes: the i105E covers up to 500m², the i108E covers up to 800m², and larger models in the range cover even bigger areas. For very large lawns, you can also use multiple zones and schedule them separately.

Can Navimow handle slopes?

Yes! Navimow i-Series models can handle slopes up to 30% (approximately 17 degrees). For steeper slopes or wet conditions, off-road wheels are available as an accessory to provide additional traction and prevent slipping.

Can Navimow mow multiple separate lawn areas?

Absolutely. You can map multiple zones (including completely separate lawn areas) and define paths for the mower to travel between them. Each zone can have its own mowing schedule and cutting height settings.

How does it handle obstacles like trees, flower beds, and garden furniture?

Navimow uses VisionFence camera technology to detect and avoid over 150 types of obstacles. For permanent features like flower beds or ponds, you can mark them as off-limit zones in the app. The mower will intelligently navigate around temporary obstacles like garden chairs or toys.

Will it work on all grass types?

Navimow works on most common grass types including ryegrass, fescue, and bluegrass. The adjustable cutting height (20-60mm) allows you to maintain your lawn at the optimal height for your grass type and climate.

✂️ Mowing Performance

How good is the cutting quality?

Navimow uses sharp, rotating blades that provide a clean, scissor-like cut. Because robot mowers cut little and often, your lawn receives frequent micro-trims that promote healthy, dense growth. Many users report their lawn looking healthier than ever within a few weeks.

How does it handle edges?

Navimow has an optional boundary overlap setting that allows cutting closer to lawn edges. While no robot mower can cut right up to a wall or fence (the wheels need to stay on the lawn), Navimow gets impressively close. A small amount of strimming may be needed for perfect edges.

What cutting heights are available?

The cutting height is adjustable from 20mm to 60mm via the app. You can set different heights for different zones if needed. The mower remembers your preferences and applies them automatically.

How long does a mowing session take?

This depends on your lawn size and the mower's battery capacity. The i105E has around 60 minutes of runtime, while the i108E offers approximately 80 minutes. The mower automatically returns to charge when needed and resumes mowing until the task is complete.

Does it mulch the clippings?

Yes. Navimow finely mulches the grass clippings and returns them to the lawn as natural fertiliser. Because the mower cuts frequently, the clippings are tiny and decompose quickly, feeding your lawn without leaving visible debris.

🌧️ Weather & Outdoor Conditions

Can Navimow mow in the rain?

Navimow has an IP66 waterproof rating and can physically operate in wet conditions. However, mowing wet grass isn't ideal - the clippings clump together and can spread disease. The Weather Adaptive feature uses weather forecast data to automatically postpone mowing during rain.

What about very hot or cold weather?

Navimow is designed to operate in temperatures from 0°C to 45°C. During extreme heat, you can schedule mowing for cooler parts of the day. In winter, the mower should be stored indoors - see our winter storage guide for details.

Can I leave it outside all year?

During the mowing season (typically spring to autumn), Navimow can stay outside on its charging station. The optional garage accessory provides protection from sun and rain. During winter months, we recommend storing the mower indoors to protect the battery and extend its lifespan.

How does the Weather Adaptive feature work?

The Navimow app connects to weather forecast data for your location. If rain is predicted during a scheduled mowing time, the mower will automatically delay the task until conditions improve. You can enable or disable this feature in the app settings.

🔋 Battery & Charging

How long does the battery last?

Battery runtime varies by model: the i105E offers approximately 60 minutes per charge, while the i108E provides around 80 minutes. Actual runtime can vary based on grass conditions, slope, and cutting height. The battery is designed to last for many years of regular use.

How long does charging take?

A full charge takes approximately 90 minutes for both the i105E and i108E models. The mower automatically returns to charge when the battery is low and resumes mowing once sufficiently charged.

Does it automatically return to charge?

Yes. When the battery level drops below 15%, Navimow automatically navigates back to the charging station. Once charged, it will resume the mowing task from where it left off.

What happens during a power cut?

If power is interrupted while charging, the mower will remain on the charging station. When power is restored, charging resumes automatically. Any interrupted mowing tasks will be rescheduled according to your settings.

📱 App & Smart Features

What can I control from the app?

The Navimow app gives you complete control: map and edit lawn boundaries, set mowing schedules, adjust cutting height, enable features like Weather Adaptive and ECO mode, track mowing progress in real-time, and receive notifications about your mower's status.

Does it work with smart home systems?

Yes! Navimow is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home. You can use voice commands to start mowing, check status, or send the mower back to its charging station.

Can I control it when I'm away from home?

Yes. As long as your Navimow is connected to Wi-Fi (or optional 4G), you can monitor and control it from anywhere using the app. Check mowing progress, adjust schedules, or receive alerts even when you're on holiday.

What is ECO Mode?

ECO Mode adjusts mowing patterns and schedules to optimise battery usage and reduce energy consumption. It's ideal for smaller lawns or when you want to minimise the mower's environmental footprint.

Can multiple people control the mower?

Yes. The Navimow app supports multiple users. The primary account holder can invite family members to control the mower through their own devices.

🔒 Safety & Security

Is it safe around children and pets?

Navimow has multiple safety features: VisionFence camera technology detects people and animals, lift and tilt sensors immediately stop the blades if the mower is picked up, and the emergency stop button provides instant shutdown. The Animal Friendly Mode adds extra protection for pets and wildlife.

What happens if it's lifted or tipped?

If Navimow is lifted or tipped beyond safe angles, the lift and tilt sensors immediately stop the cutting blades. The mower will not resume operation until it's placed back on level ground and you confirm it's safe to continue.

How does theft protection work?

Navimow includes PIN code protection - the mower cannot be used without the correct code. GPS tracking allows you to locate your mower if it's moved. If theft is detected, the mower will alarm and you'll receive a notification on your phone.

Are the blades dangerous?

The blades are designed to cut grass, not cause injury. They're mounted on a disc that swings freely on impact, and multiple sensors stop them instantly if the mower is disturbed. However, like any lawn equipment, Navimow should be treated with respect and kept away from operating blades.

🔧 Maintenance

How often do I need to replace the blades?

Blade lifespan depends on usage and lawn conditions, but typically blades should be replaced every 1-3 months during the mowing season. Replacement is simple and takes just a few minutes. Spare blade sets are included with your Navimow.

How do I clean the mower?

Regular cleaning helps maintain performance. Use a soft brush to remove grass clippings from the cutting deck and wheels. The mower is IP66 waterproof, so you can use a damp cloth or gentle water spray. Avoid high-pressure washers.

What winter storage is required?

Before winter, clean the mower thoroughly, charge the battery to around 50%, and store indoors in a cool, dry place. Avoid freezing temperatures. In spring, fully charge the battery and check the blades before the first mow of the season.

Does the firmware update automatically?

The Navimow app will notify you when firmware updates are available. Updates can be installed with a tap and add new features or improvements. We recommend keeping your mower updated for the best performance.
